From a kitchen table to Sainsbury’s

The Fiona Cairns story began in 1986, when Fiona started baking miniature fruit cakes in empty baked bean tins to give to friends one Christmas.

What began as a small kitchen-table business has grown into a celebrated British bakery, renowned for beautifully delicious cakes that combine traditional craftsmanship with refined, contemporary design.

Perhaps our most famous creation came in 2011, when Fiona Cairns was chosen to create the official Royal Wedding cake for the Prince and Princess of Wales.

Now, 40 years after those first miniature cakes were baked, seeing Fiona Cairns products on the shelves of Sainsbury’s feels like a particularly special moment.

Here’s to the next chapter – and to 40 years of making life a little more delicious.

Fiona Cairns. Beautifully made. Beautifully delicious.
