Just in Time for Tea

Have we got a treat for you! We’re hugely proud of this month’s big reveal: our handcrafted Signature Afternoon Tea collection is here after months of work – just in time for Afternoon Tea Week – including Fiona’s favourite cakes, the flavours that lie at the heart of what we do.  We never know where to start… With the lemon and elderflower mini loaf, perhaps? Or a delectable chocolate and cherry cake? Maybe the ultimate fondant fancy, or Fiona’s fragrant twist on a classic: raspberry and rose Victoria sponge? Who are we kidding… we’ll have all four. As Fiona says, they are ‘both nostalgic and fresh – a little moment of beauty and indulgence that can be shared.’ We’ll drink to that: there’s a celebration in every bite.

In the spirit of taking time for yourself, if you’re in Newcastle on 15 August, head to the flagship Fenwick’s store to meet Fiona and hear about how she rose from making fruit cakes in baked bean tins for friends to crafting the Prince and Princess of Wales’s wedding cake, then George, Charlotte and Louis’s christening cakes. A ticket includes English sparkling wine from Nyetimber wine alongside our Signature Afternoon Tea collection, of course. If you can’t get there on the day, never fear, our Fiona Cairns afternoon tea is available at Fenwicks’s Fred’s tea room from 11–24 August, or meander through Fenwick’s stunning Food Hall – or just pop online at Ocado wherever you are – and buy a box to enjoy at home.
