Me-Time Moments

Finally it’s here, the sunny month of double bank holiday joy, bluebells nodding sleepily in the shade and bright, long days. But to properly kick back and enjoy the season, it’s important to carve out a little time to relax… even be a bit selfish. Our single cupcakes – strictly not for sharing! – are perfect for such me-time May moments, so take one with you to recharge on your lunch break. Or, frankly, anywhere else the kids won’t hassle you for a bite… The only question is: chocolate or raspberry?

If you can’t help yourself from sharing – or you want more than one (we often do) – our Raspberry & Passionfruit Cupcakes, bursting with flavour-packed real fruit purées, are ideal for an indulgent picnic tête-à-tête, just as parks and gardens come into full bloom.

Then come back inside, into our favourite room – the kitchen, of course – because it’s World Baking Day this month. We’re not usually sold on ‘world days’, but this we can get behind, here at FC HQ! One of the easiest and speediest bakes are scones – even hard-pressed school and uni students could turn out a delectable batch during a revision break – and you can try Fiona’s classic recipe here. Scones are at their best shortly after baking, with a breath of the oven still about them, so eat them quickly (that won’t be hard). Our kind of brain food!
